Our R&D team devotes more time to perfecting each pair of shoes. Because in our view, a truly classic dance shoe should not be discarded after just one season. That's why we choose to design for durability.
When developing each new shoe style, we not only consider the dazzling moments on stage but also the countless hours of wear in daily training. We strategically reinforce the easily worn parts, allowing the shoes to keep up with dancers for longer. Best-selling styles are continuously refined based on user feedback, rather than being completely redesigned and forcing dancers to adjust all over again.
We have been crafting some styles for more than a decade. Not out of laziness, but because we haven't found a better alternative.
While machine cutting arranges the material according to a fixed patterns, and even a large piece of leather will produce a pile of offcuts. However, our master craftsmen flexibly adjust the marking direction according to the actual shape and texture of the leather when cutting by hand, making the most of every inch of the material.
The leftover offcuts from cutting are collected and classified. Larger pieces are reserved for making small accessories, and smaller pieces also have their uses - prototype shoe development, patch testing, and apprentice training. In our workshop, there is almost no such concept as "waste material". This seemingly outdated method is precisely the most environmentally friendly choice we can find.
But some things remain the same: the orders that arrive on time every year, the tacit understanding of working together to solve problems when they arise, and the greetings like old friends when we meet.
Such a relationship is not maintained by a single contract, but accumulated through repeated on-time deliveries, sincere communications, and joint efforts to face difficulties. We believe that the best way to cooperate is to let time filter out those who are worth walking with for the long haul.
Among them, some have been in the trade for more than 30 years, and some have grown from apprentices to masters and then to mentors of new apprentices. They are familiar with the characteristics of every piece of leather, know which process is the most eye-straining, and clearly understand what a good pair of shoes should be like.
There is not much we can do for them - provide a stable job, a comfortable working environment, and a sense of being respected. Most importantly, let them know that their experience is valued here.
